Reaching for the sky

According to the National Audit Office the benefits of applying light steel frame become increasing competitive for every floor added to a design.

At present 70,000 – 120,000 new houses need to be built each year, construction costs are rising, and traditionally skilled workers are in short supply creating a giant economic burden. (Environmental Business, June 2006)

The Government's directive for a greater number of affordable housing has resulted in an increase in large scale developments. Prefabricated, modular units provide the perfect solution and can be used for a variety of constructions from housing estates to multi storey residential buildings in urban areas (Keynote, 2006, Construction Industry).

EOS are keen to work with Architects, designers and building contractors who are focussed on this common goal.

The team have already developed a number of scale projects across the UK where they have not only contributed the final light steel frame components but added value in supporting, design, problem solving and onsite commitment.

Michael O’Connel, Director said:

‘While we presently have a principal technical advantage in having the only e-system production facility in the UK, providing extremely simple to follow drawing guidelines for onsite assembly and practical pre-assembled delivery, we recognise that our core strength is in the quality of design service and support we offer to our client partners.

We recognise that there is a clearly set target to reduce costs in social and affordable housing to make modern methods of construction an obvious choice’

We can readily take basic designs and establish outline cost estimates to assist in decision making. If you require more information, or have a potential scheme development that could potentially benefit from light steel frame solution, please call Steve Thompson, Director on 01325 303034.
